"Creating a dynamic economic environment that promotes business development while retaining affordable housing for our residents"

Local Industrial Retention Initiative (LIRI)
As a LIRI agency, LVCDC works directly with local industries to promote policies and practices that help retain manufacturing jobs in the area while attracting new industrial businesses. Participation in the LIRI Program includes business seminars, networking opportunities, and the city’s façade improvement program. For more information email liri@lvcdc.org

The HRC is a program that addresses a wide range of financial literacy and housing topics through workshops, fairs, and direct counseling. Topics covered include: first time home buying and homeownership matters, information on rental housing, as well as direct technical assistance to area residents. For more information email hrc@lvcdc.org or contact the HRC Coordinator at (773) 542-9233 ext. 13.

LVCDC is the glue that brings together the developer, residents, government, and local institutions, and plays a critical role in involving the community in development decisions and actions. Proposed real estate developments include the 26th Street and Kostner Avenue Project, The Mexican Immigrant Resource Center, and the Illinois State University LVCDC student-teacher housing resource center.
