"Improving our quality of life through programs and partnerships that respond to the community's unique needs and showcase our rich heritage.

The NCP emphasizes a holistic approach to neighborhood planning that involves community participation in the creation and implementation of a Quality of Life Plan for Little Village. The Plan includes projects that are “brick and mortar” as well as programs and services with the goal of reconnecting communities to the economic mainstream and improving the quality of life of neighborhood residents.

LVCDC places high value on community organizing and continues to reaffirm that organizing is central to all of its work - from block club organizing initiatives to its present education reform, violence prevention, economic development and housing initiatives. LVCDC helps neighbors to unite and get involved in community life and develop leadership skills.
